Q&As

Do you work with children?

Yes! We understand and appreciate that people of all ages may require accessibility modifications. Our therapist has extensive experience in pediatrics, including recommendations for assistive technologies, environmental adaptations, sensory rooms, and age-appropriate toy selections.

My aging family member is quite sensitive when it comes to discussions about their ability to remain in their home. Is it necessary for them to be present?

Yes, it's important for the client to be present for a thorough evaluation to ensure appropriate recommendations. They also need to consent to the evaluation. We recommend approaching the conversation with empathy, patience, and a collaborative attitude to help ease their stress around the topic and lead to a more constructive dialogue. Ultimately, respect their autonomy and decisions regarding their living situation, even if they differ from your own opinions.

I was advised to install equipment and make changes in my home that would involve contracting work. Will I receive references for a contractor?

Absolutely! We have established relationships with local contractors. Depending on their availability, the therapist can arrange to meet you and the contractor together to ensure a clear understanding of the recommendations.
